Engineered Stone

What is Engineered Stone?

Engineered stone are man-made stone sheets usually made from the combination of crushed stone and resin. Normally 93% crushed quartz or marble are used  but sometimes coloured glass, shells, metals, or mirrors might be added. It is mixed together by an adhesive, most commonly used are epoxy and polyester resin which are viscous liquids capable of hardening permanently. Epoxy resin is two times stronger than concrete, seamless and waterproof. Different types of resins are used by different manufacturers. Please take note that different brands have slightly different ratio of composition on their products.
